By installing or using Sentry Notch ("the Software") you agree to this
agreement. If you do not agree, do not install it, and request a refund.
On purchase you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to
use the Software on any Mac you personally own or control, for yourself or for
your employer.
A licence key is issued to a person or organisation, not to a machine. You may
install it on your laptop and your desktop. You may not share the key publicly,
resell it, or distribute it as part of another product.
Your key unlocks the version you bought and every update within the same major
version. A future major version may be a paid upgrade.
If your licence lapses or is removed, the Software does not disable its
safety functions. Permission prompts, risk analysis, the scope guard, and the
audit log continue to work. Convenience features — widgets, analytics, the
dashboard, appearance settings — stop until a valid key is installed. This is a
deliberate design decision: software that sits between an agent and your
filesystem should not become less safe because a payment lapsed.
Fourteen days, no questions asked, via the payment provider. There is a free
trial precisely so you can decide before paying.
The Software is a review aid, not a security control.
It shows you what a coding agent proposes to do and lets you allow or deny it.
Its risk flags and scope checks are heuristics. They will miss things. A command
that looks safe may not be, and an agent may accomplish something harmful
through calls that individually appear benign.
By design the Software fails open: if the app is not running, or the socket
is unavailable, or the hook errors, Claude Code's own permission flow proceeds
as though the Software were not installed. It will not block your work, and
equally it will not save you when it is not running.
You remain responsible for what you approve. Do not rely on the Software as the
only control over an autonomous agent operating on systems you care about.
The Software is built for work you are authorised to perform. The engagement
scope feature exists to help you stay inside an agreed boundary; it does not
grant you one. You are responsible for holding proper authorisation for any
system your agents touch.
The Software integrates with Claude Code, which is a product of Anthropic PBC.
Sentry Notch is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by,
or sponsored by Anthropic. "Claude" and "Claude Code" are trademarks of their
owner and are used here only to describe compatibility.
The Software depends on Claude Code's hook interface, which its vendor may
change at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to keep pace, but we cannot
guarantee compatibility with future versions of software we do not control.
The optional Spotify widget controls the locally installed Spotify application.

To function, the Software adds hook entries to ~/.claude/settings.json. It
backs that file up before every write (settings.json.sentrynotch-bak) and
removes only its own entries on uninstall. You are advised to keep your own
backup of any configuration you care about.
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or
implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and
non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of the author for
any claim arising out of the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it.
The author is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential
damages, including lost data, lost profits, business interruption, or damage
caused by an action you approved through the Software.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; where that is the case, they
apply to the maximum extent permitted, and your statutory rights as a consumer
are unaffected.
This licence ends if you materially breach it — principally by redistributing
your key or the Software. On termination you must stop using the Software and
delete it.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the author's place of residence,
without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes a consumer
protection you are entitled to where you live.
